Laurelmead Cooperative Hosts Federal, State and Local Candidates in Advance of Election
PROVIDENCE (October 12 2018) — Laurelmead Cooperative, a senior living community located on the East Side of Providence, has announced the final line-up of political candidates they will be hosting prior to the November election. This schedule is in addition to those candidates that have already visited Laurelmead, including: Providence City Council Ward 2 candidates, Helen Anthony (City Councilor-elect), Mark Feinstein and Ryan Holt, as well as State Representative, District 4 Democratic candidate, Rebecca Kislak.
The following Gubernatorial candidates for the State of Rhode Island are scheduled as follows: Tuesday, October 16th (11:00 am – 11:45 am) Democratic candidate Gina Raimondo; Tuesday, October 16th (2:00 pm – 2:45 pm) Republican candidate Allan Fung; and Thursday, October 18th (11:00 am – 11:45 am) Independent candidate Joseph Trillo.
Laurelmead is also pleased to announce that the following candidates for the Unites States Senate have been confirmed to appear in the coming weeks: Judge Robert Flanders, Republican candidate for US Senate will visit on Wednesday, October 24th, 10:00 am – 11:00 am; and US Senator Sheldon Whitehouse is scheduled for Wednesday, October 31st, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm.
Additionally, Laurelmead will host a Providence Mayoral Forum on Tuesday, October 30th. Candidates confirmed to appear include: Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza (Democrat), Jeffrey Lemire (Independent), and Dianne “Dee Dee” Whitman (Independent). The panel will discuss a wide-range of issues affecting the City of Providence. The event will open with a meet and greet with Laurelmead residents beginning at 10:30 am. From there, attendees will move into Laurelmead’s Odeon Theater for the forum scheduled from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
Lucinda Dohanian, Executive Director of Laurelmead, will host and moderate all events. As a polling location for residents and surrounding East Side neighbors, Laurelmead is pleased to welcome all candidates.
