Chamber to Kick-Off Emerging Leaders Events Series at Saltwater
NEWPORT, RI (January 24, 2017) – The Newport County Chamber of Commerce will host a kick-off for their Emerging Leaders Events Series on Wednesday, January 25th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Saltwater, 49 America’s Cup Ave. in Newport, RI.
Sponsored by Saltwater, 1540 WADK, MIXX 99.3, and The Newport Daily News, this kick-off event will include a short speaking program by Nancy Forster-Holt, Assistant Professor, Spachman Professor of Entrepreneurship at The University of Rhode Island, networking, and a fun Bfit Business Challenge Activity. All current and future entrepreneurs, entry level to executive are encouraged to attend. Complimentary appetizers will be served and a welcome beverage courtesy of Newport Vineyards will be provided.
The Emerging Leaders Committee strives to develop methods of professional and social networking for interested members of the Chamber and the community at large, as well as develop and advise on professional development, education and networking strategies. They plan to implement a community service initiative in coordination with a local non-profit organization, specifically related to education and/or workforce development.
“We are very excited to reinvigorate this initiative and expand on traditional ways of networking in order to appeal to millennials, who have become a significant force in the business community,” said Erin Donovan-Boyle, Executive Director of the Newport County Chamber of Commerce. “I look forward to introducing our programming for 2017, which will offer fresh and unique ways to connect with other professionals and entrepreneurs of all ages.”
The committee is excited to announce a full year ahead of events geared towards their goals, including speaking engagements, networking events, mocktail parties, business challenge activities and more.
