RI Trusted Choice Agents to Hold 116th Annual Convention

Karl Wadensten, Dan Hurley and Chris Herren Headline Speaker’s Program

Warwick, RI (May 18, 2017) – Trusted Choice Independent Insurance Agents of Rhode Island announced the speaking and educational program for its 116th annual convention to be held June 12th – 14th at the Atlantic Resort Hotel & Conference Center in Middletown, Rhode Island. The three-day event will commence with an annual golf tournament and include an exhibitor trade show and continuing education classes as well as feature a dynamic speakers program.

Elizabeth Dwyer, Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation’s Deputy Director and Superintendent of Insurance, will open the June 14^th session. Operational excellence coach Karl Wadensten will then lend his perspectives as CEO of VIBCO Vibrators and as chair of the “Making It Easier to Do Business in Rhode Island” subcommittee of the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation Board of Directors.

Daniel Hurley, head basketball coach for the University of Rhode Island, will conclude the morning speaker’s program. As URI’s 19th head basketball coach, Hurley led the Rams to the NCAA tournament. He is the son of Hall of Fame high school coach Bob Hurley and younger brother of former Duke and Sacramento Kings guard Bobby Hurley.

The afternoon’s session will feature Chris Herren, former NBA player and high school basketball legend from Fall River, Massachusetts. Herren realized his lifelong dream of playing in the NBA only to lose it all to the nightmare of drug addiction. Speaking about experiences that have impacted his life as a teenager, athlete and speaker, Herren will discuss such topics as drunk driving, drug addiction, and recovery.
