Chamber to Launch HR Roundtable Series in Partnership with Marsh & McLennan Agency
NEWPORT, RI (May 22, 2017) – The Newport County Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Marsh & McLennan Agency to create an interactive human resources informational series. The Chamber’s HR Roundtable series aims to help local businesses continue to be successful through panel discussions with HR industry leaders.
This series will kick-off with an engaging discussion highlighting Recruiting and Retention, facilitated by Laura Chabot, Human Resources Manager of SEA CORP, on Tuesday, May 23rd from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Newport County Chamber of Commerce (35 Valley Road, Middletown). Peer panelists will include: Bob Selle (CHRO, Ocean State Job Lot); Doug MacNiel (Vice President Talent Acquisition and Sourcing, Lifespan); Neal Harrell (President, Brooks Marine Group); and Carrie Beers (Co-founder, Lead Like a C.O.A.C.H.).
The HR Roundtable series’ panel will discuss topics such as: Creating and Maintaining Your Talent Pipeline; Employee Retention; and Strategic Considerations.

Additional HR Roundtable events have been scheduled for throughout the year, with topics to include: Compliance Issues in the Defense Industry (July 25th); Unemployment Insurance (September 26th); Employment and Labor Law Update with Cynthia J. Butler, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Butler & Associates (October 24th); and Diversity (November 14th).
