Accomplished D&I Practitioner Joins Women’s Fund of RI Board of Directors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (December 30, 2019) — The Women’s Fund of Rhode Island (WFRI) is pleased to welcome Kevin Matta to its Board of Directors. Matta will bring unique insights as a Board member through his vast experience as a diversity and inclusion practitioner who has helped improve workplaces across Rhode Island. His appointment to the Board of Directors is effective, Jan. 1, 2020.

“Kevin has demonstrated a keen awareness of equity issues by helping create positive, inclusive, and fair workplace environments,” said Kelly Nevins, Executive Director of the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island. “We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to the Board, and we look forward to working with him to increase the Women’s Fund’s impact in Rhode Island.”

Matta, who serves as the Director of Client Engagement & Inclusion at Advancing Workplace Excellence (AWE), has over 15 years of experience in the non-profit, healthcare, and financial sectors. Through his work, he helps organizations become more productive by helping employees recognize their full potential.

hrough their research, grant making, and advocacy. I am honored to be part of a highly regarded organization in the state of Rhode Island,” Matta said.

Matta has also served on the Board of Directors at the Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island, and as a co-chair for the 2019 American Heart Association ‘Go Red for Women Handbag’ auction, among other volunteer experiences.

When he is not supporting local non-profits, Matta could be found walking his rescue dog in the West Side neighborhood of Providence. Matta is a life-long resident of Rhode Island.
