Anna Gibbons Places Second at WBFF Fitness Atlantic Competition
NEWPORT, RI (April 21, 2016) – Newport Athletic Club (NAC) announced that Anna Gibbons, a personal trainer at NAC, placed second in the Women’s Figure Masters division at the World Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation (WBFF) Fitness Atlantic Competition. The event was held on April 6, 2016, at Mohegan Sun and brought athletes and body sculpting enthusiasts from throughout the Northeast.
The Women’s Figure Masters division included women ages 35 and up. In addition to Gibbons second place honor, she was also named third place overall in the Women’s Open Category, for ages 19 and up. Gibbons is 57 years old, and hopes that her accomplishments inspire women of all ages and abilities to embrace a healthy lifestyle.
“Who says you can’t build muscle in your fifties,” said Gibbons. “Never say that you can’t do something. If you don’t try, you’ll never know.”
Gibbons has been at NAC for over ten years, working as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor for Group Power, Fusion, Barre and Kettlebell. She is a military wife, and began her career in personal training while stationed with her husband in Hawaii. During that time, she helped servicemen and women develop exercise programs aimed at improving endurance and overall physical fitness.
