NEWPORT, RI (February 28, 2017) – The Newport County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Business EXPO and Job Fair will be held on Tuesday, March 14th at Gurney’s Newport Resort & Marina (One Goat Island, Newport) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Sponsored by Newport Hospital, Swipe for a Cause and Naval Station Newport, the EXPO provides local businesses with the opportunity to network and share information about their products and services to thousands of attendees each year. The evening’s events will include a business to consumer trade show that will highlight more than 100 local and regional businesses including many new exhibitors. Listen to live music each hour by Matt Kearns, Lois Vaughan Jazz Trio and Acoustic Grooves. Enjoy samples from Fisher’s Island Lemonade, Panera Bread, Cilantro Mexican Grille, Pink Box Desserts, and TwoTen Oyster Bar. The EXPO will also feature a Job Fair with dozens of local-hiring businesses, including Lifespan and MWR Naval Station Newport.
Several door prizes will be awarded by exhibitors throughout the entire event, including an outdoor grill from Gil’s Appliances. The Chamber’s Ambassador Committee will be selling raffle tickets and drawing numerous winners at the conclusion of the EXPO. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Chamber’s Scholarship fund. There will also be Grand Prize drawings, including: a Rail Explorers Tour for a family of four, courtesy of Rail Explorers; a dinner for 2 at Scarpetta’s, courtesy of Gurney’s; and a spa treatment at Seawater Spa, courtesy of Gurney’s.
Admission is FREE for Chamber members and their employees. General admission for the public is $3.00. Job Fair attendees receives free admission to the EXPO with a resume.
