University Surgical Associates Announces Adena Osband, MD to Join Transplant Surgery Division

Providence, RI (June 6, 2017) – Dr. Adena Osband has joined the Transplant Surgery Division at University Surgical Associates. An experienced kidney transplant surgeon, Dr. Osband will serve as Director of the Living Donor Program.

Dr. Osband will join Dr. Paul Morrissey, Director of Transplant Program at University Surgical Associates. She believes the scope of care available to kidney transplant patients has made remarkable strides: “I am thrilled to be here working closely with the entire transplant team.  They have established a tradition in Southern New England as a leader in organ transplantation. “

In addition to her vast experience in kidney transplant surgery, Dr. Osband also has a keen interest in both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis access. She received her medical degree from Rutgers/New Jersey Medical School in Newark in 1999, and remained there for her general surgery residency. She then completed an abdominal transplant fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to joining University Surgical Associates and the Transplant Center at Rhode Island Hospital, she practiced at Rutgers/Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick, NJ.
