PrintNEWS RELEASE

Proceeds to Benefit the Y Support-A-Child Program

Pawtucket, RI (April 16, 2015) – The YMCA of Pawtucket will host its Annual All-Star Benefit at McCoy Stadium on Sunday, May 31st. This annual event raises money for the YMCA’s Support-A-Child Fund, which assists families that cannot afford to send their children to summer day camps or pay for a YMCA youth membership. Local business still have time to step up to the plate and become sponsors of this fun-filled event.

Esselton McNulty, General Director of the YMCA of Pawtucket is encouraging not only businesses, but families to also attend the outing: “We hope to have a great crowd at this year’s event. The goal of the benefit is to generate sufficient funds to offer 200 camper-ships and 50 youth memberships.  At the YMCA of Pawtucket, we remain committed to our mission of offering the best programming and services to all children and families regardless of their economic situation.”

The Pawtucket Red Sox organization has been a loyal supporter of the Y’s annual outing for over 20 years, and without their support this event would not be possible. This year’s outing includes an all-you-can-eat barbeque from 11am – 1pm, with the PawSox versus Louisville game beginning at 1:05pm. For a $40 donation, which includes admission to the game for one adult and one child (up to age 16), guests receive access to the barbeque buffet and the chance to obtain players’ autographs.

Each ticket holder is also entered into a raffle for a chance to win a trip for two to the 2015 All Star Game.  This year’s game is hosted by the Cincinnati Reds and will be played at the Great American Ballpark on July14, 2015 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The winner also receives transportation, cash and hotel for the game.

To become a corporate sponsor for the event or to purchase tickets, please contact Maureen Thistle at 401.727.7515 or mthistle@ymcapawt.org.
