PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Sept. 10, 2019) — Recovery advocates, healthcare professionals, and local dignitaries are taking part in a series of annual Recovery Rallies across the state, which is part of a month-long celebration that coincides with National Recovery Month. This year, Providence Rally4Recovery is working with WaterFire to observe the yearly celebration with a full lighting on Saturday, Sept. 14, as part of the WaterFire Arts & Health Series.
“The rallies provide an opportunity to celebrate people in recovery, and they also provide a venue to remember individuals who were lost to addiction. Every year, countless individuals from every corner of Rhode Island attend these rallies to observe their network of support and to learn about additional resources within the state,” said Linda Hurley, President/CEO of CODAC Behavioral Healthcare.
Event organizers expect a high turnout for this year’s rallies. The theme for 2019 focuses on community strength and is entitled, “Together We Are Stronger.” Live music, food, kid-friendly activities, and more will be available at each of the rallies.
