Emerging Leaders of Newport County to Participate in RI Themed Trivia Night to Benefit Local Nonprofits

NEWPORT, RI (September 19, 2017) – The Emerging Leaders of Newport County (EL/NPT) will join with other young professionals for a fun, RI themed trivia night on Wednesday, September 27th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at DeWolf Taven, 259 Thames Street in Bristol, RI. The event will be emceed by State of Rhode Island General Treasurer Seth Magaziner, a native Bristolian.

Sponsored by Saltwater, 1540 WADK, MIXX 99.3, and The Newport Daily News, the EL/NPT group will join five other teams in competition. The winning team will receive all proceeds generated from the entry fees and they can donate the money collected to a local charity/nonprofit of their choice. The event will be held on the top floor of DeWolf Tavern in a private event space, which will offer a cash bar and cash appetizers. Teams participating include: EL/NPT; Leadership Rhode Island; Roger Williams University School of Law; East Bay Chamber of Commerce; PVD Lady Project; and Rhode Island Girls’ Pint Out.

The Emerging Leaders Committee strives to develop methods of professional and social networking for interested members of the Chamber and the community at large, as well as develop and advise on professional development, education and networking strategies. They plan to implement a community service initiative in coordination with a local non-profit organization, specifically related to education and/or workforce development.

“We are so excited to partner with other young professional organizations around RI for this event, which will impact a local charity,” said Erin Donovan-Boyle, Executive Director of the Newport County Chamber of Commerce. “EL/NPT aims to offer unique networking events for young professionals, helping to open the door to opportunity and the development of relationships that will last throughout the life of ones career. We would also like to give a special thanks to Treasurer Magaziner for supporting this event and his commitment to positively impacting the community.”
